Drosia
In Panagia, or as the locals call it, in the ” Upper parts “, in the heart of the village, Drosia is located. A traditional taverna, with the shadiest pine tree at the entrance and a courtyard ready to welcome those who are seeking for tradition.
In the menu one can find everything the land and the animals of the island can offer. Fresh sour cheese, oil cheese, fresh courgettes and tomatoes, family farmed pork, goat and lamb. The courtyard of Drosia is ideal for morning coffee, lunch after the beach and dinner with friends. Overlooking the southeastern side of the island and the full moon, it is the perfect location for any time of day.
The Gavalas family, with passion and love, cooks and serves the most delicious traditional recipes with the purest ingredients, always with Irakleian hospitality in mind. Don’t forget to try the daily made rice pudding, made from fresh milk of the day and if you are lucky, the homemade galaktoboureko.
Drosia is open from May to September, from 10 am to 12 in the evening.
